The Baltic Turning Bed is a fully profiling bed developed for clients with complex care needs and for enabling greater independence.
This specialist bed is programmable, with the fitting of an Autobox, the Baltic can be pre-set to perform positional changes at a desired frequency. The Baltic is a highly efficient bed for moving and handling, that is height adjustable improving the lives of nurses and carers with an easy-to-use handset for single-handed care. By having to consistently lift and move patients, carers put their bodies under risk of strain or injury. This mobilisation in bed allows for added pressure relief assisting in preventing pressure sores or pressure ulcers from developing.
With a variety of potential functions, the Baltic has an Autobox which can be programmed in numerous ways to include hands free turning day and night. This function makes the bed appropriate for people with a number of complex needs such as Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, Tissue Viability and Cerebral Palsy. The Baltic is able to address an individual’s specific condition, help reduce their pain and discomfort while maintaining the person’s independence, promoting dignity and alleviating some of the responsibility and work required by carers. To meet the varying Tissue Viability needs, the Baltic is available with a choice of highly sophisticated pressure relieving mattresses. Through facilitating an increase in a person’s mobility, this turning bed can reduce and prevent pressure sores and ulcers.
The turning function can be stopped at any position up to 55 degrees, where it will stop automatically. It is also possible to turn a person onto their side if this is their preference. In the current economic climate, people are regularly trying to find various methods to reduce costs and in hospitals there is reduced or single-handed care. This makes the Baltic turning bed an essential, cost-saving piece of equipment by not only reducing the number of carers required to reposition a client but, in many cases the client is given the freedom to reposition themselves without having to rely on others.
As with all Centrobed products, the Baltic is compatible with most environmental control systems. Centrobed beds are made with ergonomics at the forefront and can be designed to fit the individual person, from paediatric to bariatric, or excessively tall, the beds can be made bespoke with a safe working load of over 60 stones (381Kg).

Baltic Bed User
“I would like to sincerely thank you for changing my life dramatically. My husband has been totally bed bound for several years, unable to move unaided. I had managed with a hospital bed, with a manual backrest, and height adjustment, but found this increasing difficult as I had surgery on my right side. My back was also suffering considerably. I now have a Baltic bed, and this could not be easier, no more bending or pulling, every movement of this bed is a flick of a switch within a second! I cannot speak too highly of the aftercare service. Every call (however minor) is met with great courtesy, and prompt action. I have total confidence in the product and would highly recommend the bed and the company”
