Helping Isla Live More Independently with the Bali Bed
Recently, the DIY SOS team travelled to Leicester to help transform the home of seven-year-old Isla, a bright and determined little girl living with Mandibuloacral Dysplasia, a rare genetic condition that affects bone growth and causes premature aging of major organs.
Despite the challenges she faces every day, Isla is full of joy, resilience, and determination. Her dream is to live as independently as possible in her own home — and this project was all about making that dream a reality.
At Centrobed, we were proud to play a small part in Isla’s journey by donating a Bali Bed, which was custom-built and designed to meet her unique needs. The Bali Bed provides both safety and comfort, helping Isla and her family with day-to-day care while giving her more freedom in her own space.
It was a privilege to contribute to such a meaningful project, and to see Isla’s face light up as she tried her new bed for the first time.
